Heathrow Cello Baggage

You can take a cello or double bass as checked baggage from Heathrow, but it's essential to check with your airline for their specific policies and procedures. Some airlines, such as British Airways, have special requirements or restrictions for large or unusual items. For example, as of 1 January 2022, British Airways charges a fee of £125 to check a large musical instrument. It's crucial to confirm your airline's guidelines before your flight. Generally, large musical instruments like cellos and double basses can be checked in as special baggage, but this may incur additional fees. Before arriving at the airport, contact your airline to discuss your options. Heathrow Airport has facilities for handling special baggage, including large musical instruments. When you arrive at Heathrow, proceed to the designated check-in area for special baggage. Airport staff will assist you with checking in your cello or double bass.
