British Airways has confirmed it will expand its St Louis to London Heathrow service to daily flights for more than four months of summer 2027, adding over 35,400 seats on the route compared with summer 2026, an 80% increase in capacity.
The airline will operate five flights a week from 28 March 2027, before stepping up to a daily service between 19 April and 28 June, and again between 6 September and 30 October. Outside those two daily windows, British Airways will run five flights a week for the rest of the season. The route is flown using the airline's Boeing 787 fleet.
British Airways launched the St Louis to Heathrow route in April 2026 with four flights a week, restoring nonstop service between the two cities after American Airlines dropped its route more than two decades earlier. British Airways remains the only UK airline flying the route nonstop.
Hubert Frach, British Airways' head of sales for North America, said the airline was "delighted to be significantly growing our presence in St Louis for Summer 2027 with daily flights to London Heathrow for more than four months of the season", adding that demand had been "tremendous" since launch five months ago and that the expansion gives customers "even greater choice and flexibility" connecting through Heathrow to Europe and beyond.
The expansion was announced in a British Airways press release and confirmed by St Louis Public Radio and St Louis Lambert International Airport's own newsroom, which quoted Explore St Louis president Brad Dean saying international visitors from the extra flights would benefit the region's hotels, restaurants and attractions.
For Heathrow, the move adds to the airport's North American network at a time when transatlantic demand has stayed resilient even as overall global passenger growth has slowed in 2026, according to separate industry figures published this week.
