Is there disabled parking at Heathrow? Yes: Blue Badge holders get the first two hours free in any Park & Ride car park at every terminal, no registration needed. If you'd rather drop off directly at the terminal forecourt instead of parking, that route costs £7 per visit, but can be reduced to zero once you register a free Blue Badge Account with Heathrow in advance. Heathrow disabled drop off: your two options
Heathrow has no separate, free drop-off lane reserved only for Blue Badge holders. Instead, disabled drivers choose between the same two routes as everyone else, with one of them discounted:
- The terminal forecourt drop-off zone, directly outside your terminal, for the fastest drop-off, with the £7 charge waived in full once you've registered.
- A Park & Ride car park, a short free shuttle ride away, where the first two hours are free for Blue Badge holders regardless of registration, giving you longer to help a passenger if needed.
If your passenger needs real mobility assistance rather than a quick drop, Park & Ride is usually more comfortable, since the forecourt is built for a fast in-and-out stop, not for lingering.
Heathrow drop off disabled: using the terminal forecourt
Every Heathrow terminal has its own drop-off zone on a dedicated access road right outside the building: Constellation Way for Terminal 2, Cosmopolitan Way onto Camborne Road for Terminal 3, Stratford Road for Terminal 4, and Wayfarer Road for Terminal 5. The standard charge is £7 per visit at all four terminals, payable online or by phone, not at the zone itself, and you are charged again every time you re-enter. If you're paying after using the drop-off zone rather than in advance, Heathrow's own payment terms require it by midnight the next day.
Blue Badge holders can get this charge waived completely, but only if registered in advance. Heathrow calls this the "Blue Badge Concession": a 100% discount on the drop-off charge for a Blue Badge holder who has successfully registered a Blue Badge Account. Turning up with a badge on display but no registered account does not trigger the discount automatically, and you can still be charged, or issued a Parking Charge Notice if you leave without paying, the same as any other driver.
How to register for the Blue Badge drop-off discount
Register before you travel, since approval isn't instant:
- Go to the Blue Badge discount link on Heathrow's Terminal Drop-Off Charge page, or directly to heathrowdropoff.apcoa.com.
- Create an account with your email and verify it with the code you're sent.
- Enter your Blue Badge expiry date and vehicle registration.
- Upload photos of the front and back of your Blue Badge, then submit.
Confirmation can take up to five working days, so if you're dropping off sooner, pay the standard £7 charge rather than counting on same-day approval. Once active, you confirm your registration and the date for each future visit to apply the discount.
Heathrow disabled parking: using Park & Ride instead
If you'd rather skip registering, or need more time than the forecourt allows, use a Park & Ride car park at your terminal instead. UK and EEA Blue Badge holders get the first two hours free there, no account needed. Use the intercom at the call point on entry and state your Blue Badge number and registration to the operator, then do the same on exit. This works for a drop-off or a pick-up, and it's longer than the 29 minutes any driver gets free in Park & Ride for a quick stop.
Where are the Blue Badge bays and help points?
Clearly signed Blue Badge bays sit in every official Heathrow car park, close to the terminal access routes in Terminal Parking, or close to the bus stop in Park & Ride and Priority Park & Ride. Help points sit at these bays, at every drop-off point, and at the bus, train and Underground stations; press one for free assistance with mobility or luggage, or call Heathrow's assistance line, +44 (0)20 8757 2700, from your vehicle.
Can I park or wait on the road with a Blue Badge?
No. For security reasons, the Blue Badge scheme does not operate on the roads and forecourts around Heathrow, and an unattended vehicle left there, even briefly and with a badge displayed, is liable to be towed. Waiting to pick someone up also isn't permitted on the departure forecourt under Heathrow's Traffic Regulation Orders, badge or no badge. Use a Park & Ride or Terminal Parking car park instead.
Booking mobility assistance in advance
A Blue Badge covers your parking or drop-off charge, but it's separate from booking mobility assistance inside the terminal. If your passenger needs an airport wheelchair or help through security, tell the airline, travel agent or tour operator at least 48 hours before travel, and Heathrow's assistance team will meet you in the right area in departures or arrivals.
